In unveiling Blackbird Television, Goldman has also sealed an exclusive one-year, first-look deal with his former employers at RDF USA.
Goldman said the setup "will allow me to be more entrepreneurial while maintaining a strong working relationship with RDF."
With Goldman's departure, RDF USA's development will continue to be overseen by execs including Mike Duffy, Lauren Gellert, Claire O'Donohoe and Jennifer Danska.
Goldman had been with RDF USA since 2006, serving as exec VP of development and current. He was involved in shows such as Fox's "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and "Secret Millionaire," the CW's "Hitched or Ditched" and ABC's "Shaq's Big Challenge."
Before RDF, he was executive director of alternative series and specials at ABC Entertainment.
