Emmy winner Kathy Griffin has been tapped to host this year's Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

According to the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences, Griffin is the first Emmy winner to host the Creative Arts show. Kudofest takes place on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Announcement was made by Lee Miller and Steve Venezia, who are exec producing the show. Also onboard to produce the kudos is Spike Jones Jr., marking his 15th year at the Creative Arts Emmys helm.

Griffin "stole the show the last two years, so now we're giving her the opportunity to officially hijack it," Jones said.

E! Entertainment TV is set to telecast a two-hour version of the ceremony Sept. 19.
