Bravo renews vows with 'Housewives'

Net picks up third season of 'New York City'

'The Real Housewives of New York City,' produced by Shed Media, is headed for a third season in Bravo’s neighborhood.

Bravo has picked up a third season of "The Real Housewives of New York City."

Decision was a no-brainer for the cabler as the "Housewives" phenomenon -- judged most recently by the media coverage of the New Jersey women's antics -- continues to draw viewers to the NBC Universal-owned net.

In terms of total viewers, New Jersey ranks best in the franchise, followed by Orange County, New York City and Atlanta.

Production will begin in the fall, and casting is under way.

Although it hasn't been officially announced, the "Atlanta" series will soon begin production on its second season.

"The Real Housewives of New York City" is produced by Shed Media U.S. Jennifer O'Connell and Nick Emmerson are exec producers.
