LONDON — Eleven U.K. filmmakers have been selected to participate in Second Picture Syndrome, a training program that develops and packages mid-budget — $10 million to $25 million — genre pics and launches them on the international market.

The program is run by Slingshot Productions in partnership with Skillset, the Salt Company, Optimum Releasing and Ingenious.

The filmmakers, who were chosen for their ability to make mainstream commercial pics with international appeal, include Gordon Anderson, director of "The In-Betweeners," Olly Blackburn, writer-director of "Donkey Punch," Saul Metzstein, helmer of "Guy X," and Dan Zeff, director "Lost in Austen."

The program includes masterclasses by U.K. industry leaders, such as Christian Colson of Cloud 9 Films, Marc Samuelson of CinemaNX, Stephen Garrett of Kudos, Colin Vaines of GK Films and Ian George of Fox U.K.
