Tsuyuzaki is familiar to many in the biz as the managing director of the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory since 2005. In his new post he will be primarily based in the company's HQ in Secaucus, N.J., but will remain a familiar face in Hollywood, according to insiders.
Before joining Panasonic Tsuyuzaki worked at Sony, where he helped Blu-ray prevail in the format war over HD DVD.
Tsuyuzaki's predecessor in the CTO post, Dr. Paul Liao, has moved to Cable Television Laboratories, where he becomes president and CEO.
