A Fox stations spokesperson confirmed that 95 employees may be on tap to be terminated.
Barring a last-minute reprieve, a large swath of "editors, writers, shooters, promo people, our chief helicopter guy, the entire chyron department, most of the graphics department" will be let go, one news person at the stations told the local website L.A. Observed.
A station insider said a variety of departments may be hit, including engineers, creative services and production. No anchors will be cut.
Cuts come in what continues to be a harsh climate for TV stations across the country. Several high-paid anchors, including KNBC's Paul Moyer in Los Angeles, have been let go in the process.
Fox TV Stations hasn't been immune; the station group also recently made staff cuts at its New York WNYW/WWOR duopoly.
