Fox Germany chases 'Yesterday'

Company to adapt Wasserman's trilogy

By ED MEZA

BERLIN — Fox International Productions Germany is developing an adaptation of Robin Wasserman's book trilogy "Chasing Yesterday," about a mysterious young girl, as one of its first projects.

Peter Thorwarth and Stefan Holtz are currently penning the script, with Thorwarth also in negotiations to direct. The multihyphenate Thorwarth most recently co-wrote last year's hit drama "The Wave" with director Dennis Gansel.

Wasserman's "Chasing Yesterday" series follows a 13-year-old girl who is found in the aftermath of an explosion suffering from amnesia and haunted by strange nightmares.

The story is being adapted for a Berlin-setting.

Headed by former Studio Babelsberg topper Gabriela Bacher, Fox's German production division was set up in Berlin last year as part of the conglom's international division under president Sanford Panitch.
