Ramis makes rounds at 'Year' premiere

Comedy stars Black and Cera

NEW YORK -- Everybody treated Harold Ramis like an old friend at the June 15 premiere of the director's new biblically themed movie "Year One."

After-party at the Empire Hotel was packed with friendly faces, well-wishers and Ghostbusters -- everyone from the pic's stars Michael Cera and Jack Black to Ramis' rabbi, Irwin Kula, who was thrilled with the pic.

"We have too many people and tribes on this earth who think of themselves as 'chosen,' " Kula enthused. "Harold has deconstructed choseness."

Asked how he pitched the offbeat pic to Sony co-chair Amy Pascal, Ramis grinned and said he told the exec he wanted to "trace human psychological development across the arc of Genesis."

"It was Harold," Pascal said. "I said, 'Fine.' "
