Based on a segment from “Divorce Court,” show follows Dr. Michelle Callahan as she works with couples in determining whether they’re ready to get hitched.
“Wedlock or Deadlock” will air for six weeks on seven Fox-owned stations in New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tampa, Phoenix, Orlando and Memphis. Show bows July 20.
Half-hour show will kick off each episode with the couple handing their marriage license over to Callahan. After interviewing the pair, she’ll either return their license or rip it up.
Twentieth TV prexy-COO Bob Cook and Fox TV Stations programming senior VP Frank Cicha announced the pickup Wednesday. The test run follows the trail of other Twentieth syndie skeins that have been tested on a handful of Fox outlets before going national.
Dave Brown will exec produce.
