Kinowelt chief exec to leave

De Haas cites family reasons for departure

BERLIN — Jan-Pelgrom de Haas, chief exec at StudioCanal's German subsidiary Kinowelt, is ankling his post at the end of June, the company announced Thursday.

De Haas asked StudioCanal to terminate his contract due to family reasons. He will return to Hamburg from the company's headquarters in Leipzig but will continue to work as a consultant for Kinowelt until a successor is appointed.

De Haas joined Kinowelt last July, replacing Bertil le Claire following StudioCanal's takeover of the group.

In thanking de Haas for his service, StudioCanal topper Olivier Courson said, "We regret Jan-Pelgrom's decision but we sympathize with his reasons."

StudioCanal finance chief Romain Bessi will oversee operations at Kinowelt until a new CEO is appointed.
