Simon pair to Nederlander

Theater gets 'Brighton,' 'Bound' revivals

The Main Stem revivals of "Brighton Beach Memoirs" and "Broadway Bound" have staked out the Nederlander Theater for their upcoming run in rep, billed as "The Neil Simon Plays."

The Nederlander was previously occupied by "Guys and Dolls," which shuttered Sunday.

The pair of plays, which take place in the same Brooklyn house, are part of an autobiographical trilogy penned by Simon in the 1980s. For the new stagings, David Cromer ("Our Town") helms a cast toplined by Laurie Metcalf.

"Brighton Beach" begins previews Oct. 2 ahead of an Oct. 25 opening, with previews of "Broadway Bound" folded into the sked beginning Nov. 18 and an opening set for Dec. 10.
