The acquisition is part of an exclusive free TV rights deal with TMG for more than 30 films, including other high-profile titles such as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," starring Johnny Depp; Vin Diesel actioner "Babylon A.D."; and the mystery thriller "Knowing," with Nicolas Cage.
The package also includes a number of TV movies as well as the U.S. mystery series "Sanctuary."
With a German box-office take of $23.1 million, "Twilight" has become the year's second biggest box office hit to date after "Angels & Demons," which has so far pulled in $40.4 million.
ProSiebenSat.1 has long-term contracts with almost every major Hollywood studio as well as local production companies and license dealers, including CBS Paramount, Sony, Disney, Warner, Paramount Pictures, MGM, Lucasfilm, DreamWorks, Constantin, Tobis and Kinowelt.
