“Musashi,” about real-life 16th century swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, is scripted by anime auteur Mamoru Oshii and helmed by his collaborator Mizuho Nishhkubo, whose credits include the anime sequence in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill Vol. 1.”
Pic, produced by Tokyo anime studio Production I.G., bows in Japan on Saturday. Locarno runs Aug. 5-15.
