Delusinne, an advertising exec for 20 years before joining RTL in 2002, opened his account by demanding a fair deal for commercial broadcasters.
"We are confident in our business models but call on policy-makers for regulatory relief so that our sector will be able to prosper in an increasingly competitive market environment, in particular when compared to our publicly-financed competitors who are much less affected by the crisis."
The association has 28 member companies, operating more than 400 free-to-air and pay TV channels in 34 European countries.
With Jean-Paul Philippot of pubcaster RTBF heading the European Broadcasting Union, this appointment completes the double for Belgian TV execs.
