Screen Actors Guild president Alan Rosenberg will seek a third two-year term.

Rosenberg made the disclosure Tuesday afternoon while waiting for results of voting by SAG members on the feature-primetime contract.

He had indicated in recent months that he had not ruled out another term and he refused Tuesday to elaborate on the decision. SAG's election results will be announced on Sept. 24.

Rosenberg's been a vociferous opponent of the tentative film-TV deal, contending that it falls short in new-media provisions. He said that 80 percent of the members he's met with in recent weeks have concurred with his stance.

Rosenberg and his allies in the Membership First faction lost control of the national board last fall to a coalition of moderates.

Rosenberg succeeded Melissa Gilbert in 2005 as SAG prexy, defeating Morgan Fairchild by 5 percent. He won re-election in 2007 over Seymour Cassel by a 2 percent margin.
