The show also won a Rocky statuette for best miniseries at Sunday's awards ceremony, held in the Rocky Mountains resort in Alberta, Canada.
The Grand Prize for Canadian show went to PTV production "Passage"; Anaid Prods.' "Family Restaurant: The Quons (Be Bold)" won for entertainment show; U.K. web Channel 4's "The Curse of the Mona Lisa" won best documentary; and Capa Presse TV's "Ne Dites a ma mere" for Gaul's Canal Plus won for francophone show.
The Bravo! entry "I Met the Walrus" took the honors for kids and animation show, and Japanese pubcaster NHK's "Bitworld -- Rescue Toya" was named best interactive show.
During the ceremony, Canuck actor-director-screenwriter Paul Gross received the NBC Universal Canada award of distinction, and Victor Garber was given the Cineflix award of excellence. The Peter Ustinov comedy award was handed to Mark McKinney.
At the Alberta Film awards lunch earlier in the day, Toronto producer Shaftesbury Films received the Lionsgate-Maple Pictures innovative producer honors and Lionsgate Television was honored with the Variety outstanding achievement award.
Veteran industry exec Trina McQueen was given the lifetime achievement award.
The Banff fest runs through Wednesday.
