Disney XD to launch in Japan

Cable channel for boys to bow in August

TOKYO -- The Mouse House will launch Disney XD, a cable strand for boys, in Japan in August.

On air in the U.S. since December and in France since April, the channel, which offers toons and live-action shows for boys 6-14, will make its third territory launch in Japan.

Disney XD will replace Toon Disney, which airs in Japan on the Sky PerfecTV! and Sky PerfecTV! e2 satellite platforms, as well as on cable and broadband TV. Toon Disney subs will be able to view Disney XD without making any new applications or additional payments.
