Orange demonstrated its leadership in stereo 3-D technology at Dimension 3, the international stereoscopic confab, which ran June 2-4 in Paris.
The Gallic telco giant presented a live 3-D concert of Mozart's "Don Giovanni" on opening night, and beamed the men's finals of the French Open in live 3-D to theaters in Spain and France.
Dimension 3 showcased a range of 3-D applications, from videogames, screen technologies and virtual worlds to new tools for filming, post-production, visualization and broadcasting. "It's important to see 3-D technology not just in the context of the theatrical world," said Julian Stanford, Imax's general manager of theater development.
