Aurum, Studio Ghibli to release classics

'Castle,' 'Totoro,' 'Porco' among titles

Aurum Prods., one of Spain's top indie film distributors, has inked with Japan's Studio Ghibli to release nine of its animation classics in DVD.

Titles include Hayao Miyazaki's "Castle in the Sky," "My Neighbor Totoro," "Porco Rosso" and "Princess Mononoke."

Aurum does not rule out a theatrical release for select titles. Owned by Canada's Alliance Films, Aurum will also release Miyazaki's latest toon pic, "Ponyo," in Blu-ray. Deal builds on Aurum's release in DVD and cinemas of Studio Ghibli titles in Spain such as "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Ponyo."
