'The Shield' tops TCA nominees

"The Shield" will take on "Lost," "Mad Men," "Saturday Night Live" and "Battlestar Galactica" for program of the year.
"The Shield" was also nominated for top drama and the TCA Heritage Award, while co-star Walton Goggins was recognized for individual achievement in a drama.
NBC earned 11 noms -- the most of any network -- including three for "30 Rock" and two each for "Saturday Night Live" and "The Office." The Peacock was followed by HBO with six.
Nominated comedies are "30 Rock," "The Big Bang Theory," "The Daily Show," "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Office." "Breaking Bad," "Friday Night Lights," "Lost" and "Mad Men" will vie with the "The Shield" for top drama.
Competing for the Heritage Award, which recognizes a longstanding program that made a lasting or cultural impact, are "ER," "MASH," "Saturday Night Live," "The Shield" and "Star Trek."
Awards will be announced Aug. 1 at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena. Chelsea Handler will host.
