NBC Universal, Hallmark deal in cards

Pact expands relationship between duo

"The Office," "30 Rock" and "Battlestar Galactica" are coming soon to a greeting card near you.

NBC Universal has sealed a new licensing deal with Hallmark Cards that includes the use of the company's film and TV content.

Universal Partnerships and Licensing, as well as NBC Universal TV, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group, forged the pact with Hallmark.

Universal's first 3-D CGI feature, "Despicable Me," set for 2010 release, will be included under the new arrangement, as will the preschool series "Curious George."

Sound cards from U films such as "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Sixteen Candles" and "Jaws" will be included as well. Ditto "The Office," "30 Rock" and "Battlestar," as well as NBC News archives.

Beyond cards, the deal includes "a wide range of social expression products." It expands on a previous relationship NBC U had with Hallmark.
