After orchestrating the mega-merger of WMA and Endeavor, is Jim Wiatt preparing for the next chapter of his career?

Informed sources within both agencies say that Wiatt, the CEO of WMA who was named chairman of the newly minted WME Entertainment, is preparing to segue to an emeritus role after the merger is completed.

People close to Wiatt strongly deny that he is planning such a move, but speculation about his long-term future with WME is rampant within the WMA and Endeavor ranks. It comes on the heels of WMA's layoffs this week of more than 100 staffers as Endeavor and WMA begin the process of melding their operations.

The agencies are still awaiting the final sign-off on the deal from labor commissioners in California and New York.
