Performers org re-elects Bikel

Group head nabs 11th two-year term

Theodore Bikel has been re-elected to an 11th two-year term as president of the Associated Actors and Artistes of America, the organization through which performer unions derive their jurisdictional charters.

Affiliates include Actors' Equity Assn., American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, American Guild of Musical Artists, American Guild of Variety Artists, Guild of Italian American Actors and Screen Actors Guild.

Other officers elected at the biennial convention: AFTRA national exec director Kim Roberts Hedgpeth, first VP; SAG interim national exec director David White, second VP; Actors' Equity exec director John Connolly, third VP; Rod McKuen of the American Guild of Variety Artists, fourth VP; Deborah Allton Maher of the American Guild of Musical Artists, fifth VP; Thomas Jamerson of the American Guild of Musical Artists, treasurer; and Mary Lou Westerfield of Actors' Equity, exec secretary.

Bikel's 85th birthday will be celebrated June 15 with a concert at Carnegie Hall to benefit the Juvenile Law Center.
