LONDON — RTL topper Gerhard Zeiler is to give the prestigious Worldview Address at this summer's Edinburgh Television Festival.

Zeiler, CEO of RTL Group, owner of webs in Germany, the U.K. and France, joins a lineup that also features News Corp. chief James Murdoch and "Wire" creator David Simon.

Also on board the three-day talking shop are U.K. TV entertainment icons Ant and Dec.

The double act will deliver the Alternative MacTaggart lecture.

Among the subjects the gabfest will be putting under the spotlight are new revenue models, the state of the global television industry and how TV is coping with the credit crunch

Elaine Bedell, the festival's chair, said, "At a time when the television industry is facing cutbacks and budgetary constraints, it is vital that the industry joins together to consider its future position and the Edinburgh International TV Festival is the ideal place for this to happen."

Event bows in the Scottish capital Aug. 28.
