The venture, to be based at Legendary's offices on the Warner Bros. lot, will develop content based on its pics, as well as original programming that will be distribbed across multiple platforms, including the Internet, mobile phones and videogames.
Legendary certainly has the properties to exploit to interactive audiences.
Internally, it's developing bigscreen versions of two vidgame franchises: Blizzard Interactive's "World of Warcraft" and Epic Games' "Gears of War." Other pics in the works include "Kung Fu," based on the TV show, and "Paradise Lost."
As part of its financing partnership with Warner Bros., company has produced "Superman Returns," "300" and the previous two Batman pics, as well as the upcoming "Where the Wild Things Are," "The Hangover," "Jonah Hex" and "Clash of the Titans."
Company had announced last year that it plans a 2010 cross-platform launch of supernatural thriller "The Lost Patrol" that will spin off the pic's plot and characters onto cell phones, in videogames and online.
Vrabeck was most recently prexy of Electronic Arts' casual entertainment group, where she developed mobile, online, social networking and family gaming properties.
Before EA, she was prexy of vidgame publisher Activision.
