Fox, Steve Brill to make comedy

'Drillbit Taylor' director sells untitled pitch to studio

Steve Brill has sold an untitled comedy pitch to 20th Century Fox that he will direct. John Davis is on board to produce.

The "Drillbit Taylor" helmer is also attached to rewrite and direct the campus comedy "The Last Semester" for Endgame Entertainment.

The untitled Fox project revolves around a wealthy older couple who, after losing all their money in a Wall Street Ponzi scheme are forced to move in with their loser son.

"Last Semester" centers on a Harvard couple who decide to temporarily break up and date other people in their final semester in order to have the "college experience." Richard Amberg penned an earlier draft.

Brill's credits include Paramount's "Without a Paddle" and the Adam Sandler starrer "Mr. Deeds" for Sony Pictures. He also directed "Heavy Weights," which he co-wrote with Judd Apatow.
