One of 2010's most buzzed-about Gallic film, "Je t'Aime Moi Non Plus," a biopic of famed French singer Serge Gainsbourg, has been nabbed for distribution across Europe.

Paris-based shingle Kinology has inked sales for Benelux' Cineart, Switzerland's Pathe, Germany's Prokino, U.K.'s Optimum, Middle East's Gulf Films, Canada's Seville Pictures and Scandinavia's Svensk Filmindustri.

Kinology's topper Gergoire Melin said he in talks with buyers from Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Asia Australia, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Directed by Gallic comicbook artist Joann Sfar, Gainsbourg is a fantasy film co-produced by Studio 37, Universal and One World Films.

Melin, who came onboard after reading the script's first draft, said the pic is far more of a fantasy than a biopic. "Je t'Aime" will feature animated creatures, crafted by the "Pan's Labyrinth" designers, which will symbolize the spirit and imagination of Gainsbourg.

Film marks Sfar's directorial debut.

"I'm not making a classic biopic like 'La Vie en Rose,' " explained Sfar, who added that he has been prepping the film for two years. "I'm bringing my comicbook universe into the film, with puppets, songs, poetry and costumes, for my own fantasized vision of Gainsbourg."

Pic toplines Eric Elmosnino as Gainsbourg, as well as Lucy Gordon, Laetitia Casta and Anna Mouglalis in the role of the singer's successive lovers: Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot and Juliette Greco.

Pic is skedded for a February 2010 release and Melin is showing a 10-minute promo reel in Cannes.
