Lightning picks up 'Don McKay'

Thriller stars Shue, Haden Church

Lightning Entertainment has picked up international sales rights to the thriller "Don McKay," starring Elisabeth Shue and Thomas Haden Church.

Film, which screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, is being sold at the Cannes market.

Pic, written and directed by Jake Goldberger, revolves around a man who returns to his hometown to find that his ex-girlfriend isn't quite what he remembered.

Jim Young ("Homecoming," "Year of the Bull") produced, while Church exec produced.

Sales deal was negotiated by Lightning senior VP of acquisitions Joe Dickstein and Lightning corporate counsel Megan Holstein and Young.

Lightning also is shopping the Michael Keaton and Kelly McDonald starrer "The Merry Gentleman" at Cannes.
