'I Sell the Dead'

'I Sell the Dead' opened Slamdance and won two awards at the fest; IFC has picked it up.

IFC has bought domestic rights for "I Sell the Dead," a horror thriller starring Larry Fessenden, Ron Perlman and Dominic Monaghan.

IFC will release "Dead" theatrically and on demand in August.

Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada has acquired rights for Canada, Australia, the U.K. and New Zealand. Screen Media bought the remaining international rights.

"Dead" is produced by Fessenden and Peter Phok through Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix. It was the opening night pic at Slamdance this year and won best cinematography and a special jury award for Fessenden.

In the pic, directed by Glenn McQuaid, justice catches up with a pair of 18th century grave robbers.
