Broadway's all-black staging of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" heads to London next season for a West End stint skedded to begin in December.
James Earl Jones and Phylicia Rashad reprise their roles as the patriarch and matriarch, respectively, of the tempestuous Southern family in Tennessee Williams' drama. Brit thesp Adrian Lester will play conflicted son Brick, a part portrayed by Terrence Howard in the 2008 Broadway run.
Debbie Allen reprises her directorial duties. Casting for the role of Maggie, played by Anika Noni Rose on Broadway, has not yet been confirmed.
The producer of the successful Gotham staging, Stephen C. Byrd, produces the London run, tentatively set to start perfs Dec. 1 at a theater to be determined.
