Film Movement acquires 'Gigante'

Comedy won grand jury award in Berlin

Film Movement has acquired North American rights to "Gigante," the Uruguayan comedy that won the grand jury award at the Berlinale along with the first feature film nod and the Alfred Bauer Prize.

The pic, directed by Adrian Biniez, centers on a shy supermarket security guard who falls in love with a cleaner. The film will open in theaters in the fall.

Film Movement has released more than 150 features and shorts from 37 countries including top prize winners from Sundance, Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Berlin and Tribeca.
