MONTREAL -- Canada's actors inked a three-year deal with the local producers' orgs Thursday.
ACTRA has reached an agreement with the Canadian Film and Television Production Assn. and the Quebec producers' body to give actors a 2% rate increase for each of the next three years.
The other terms of the current independent production agreement remain unchanged.
The deal is for actors in film, TV and new media working in Canada, with the exception of British Columbia, where the actors' union negotiates a separate agreement.
"Given these uncertain economic times, both sides agreed that it was in the industry's best interest to work together to come to a quick, simple deal," said ACTRA national president Richard Hardacre.
If the deal is ratified by ACTRA members it will take effect Jan. 1 and expire Dec. 31, 2012.
