"It was great fun. He has such an energetic approach to shooting. He is always shooting with three cameras, so you never know when your closeup is, so it doesn't become over-precious. We did a scene that was a little mini-montage where I was trying to observe someone on a computer screen playback and study what was going on in their head. A normal director would take about a half hour, but with Tony it took about four or five hours.
"Meanwhile the budget went haywire. You don't go over budget in TV ever, but he went about 50% over!
"So we spent four hours on this montage, which was basically him painting with the camera and me improvising my way through the scene. It's rare that you get that opportunity and with someone who has such a great eye and sensibility. We still haven't gotten Ridley yet, but hopefully we'll get him soon."
