L.A. critics pick 'Eden is West'

Costa-Gavras film tops City of Lights festival

Costa-Gavras' 'Eden Is West' took top prize at the City of Lights, City of Angels fest on Sunday.

Helmer Costa-Gavras' "Eden Is West" was awarded top prize by a jury of the L.A. Film Critics Assn. at the 13th annual City of Lights, City of Angels fest, which closed Sunday.

Event features a week of French film preems in Hollywood.

"The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" drew the LAFCA's special prize, while Philippe Lioret's "Welcome" took the audience kudo.

Thesp Yolande Moreau nabbed a special mention for her perfs in "Seraphine" and comedy caper pic "Louise-Michel."
