It will be the true story of Deborah Lipstadt, a professor of Jewish Studies at Emory U., who was forced to defend herself in a courtroom and prove the existence of the Holocaust.
Max Borenstein ("What Is Life Worth") has been set to write the script. Russ Krasnoff, Gary Foster and Rikki Bestall will produce. Participant Media has acquired rights to Lipstadt's book "History on Trial." After she wrote a book about the Holocaust denial movement and named David Irving as a spokesman for that movement, she was sued by Irving for libel. The case was tried in a London courtroom, where part of Lipstadt's strategy was to prove that the Holocaust actually occurred.
Paradigm brokered the deal for book and Lipstadt's life rights.
