Production unit snaps up first property

HOLLYWOOD -- Tyler Perry's 34th Street Films has bought its first property, snapping up an unnamed feature pitch from the scripting team of Jennifer Heath and Michele J. Wolff ("Ella Enchanted").

Logline is being kept under wraps. Company prexy Ozzie Areu described it as "the ideal launch for our company, speaking to a mainstream audience while appealing to the sentiment of Tyler's loyal demographic."

Perry formed 34th Street Films last fall to produce projects under his imprint but written and directed by outside talent.
