Di Bonaventura will produce “Lions, Tigers and Bears,” based on Mike Bullock’s comicbook, for Paramount Pictures. Pitch, penned by Joey Aucoin, was bought preemptively by the studio.
Story, told from the perspective of an adult reminiscing about his childhood, revolves around a group of stuffed animals that come to life at night. Film would be live action but would call for considerable CG effects.
Oric Scott De Las Casas is co-producing.
Di Bonaventura, whose shingle is based at Paramount, has three films in the can: “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” “G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra” and the Eddie Murphy starrer “Imagine That.”
Par’s Nickelodeon Movies acquired Aucoin’s spec “Unicorn” in 2007.
ICM, which reps Aucoin, Bullock and De Las Casas, packaged the deal.
