Starring Turkish feature film actress Hulya Kocyigit as Dorothy, theater actress Nevra Serezli as Blanche, former politician and actress Fatma Girik as Sophia and one of Turkey's most high-profile actresses, Turkan Soray as Rose, a 13-part adaptation of the classic ABC laffer bowed on satellite broadcaster ATV Sunday.
It follows Disney-ABC-ESPN Television's agreements with Channel One Russia and ET1 Greece to produce adaptations of "The Golden Girls" and Turkish versions of ABC Studios' "According to Jim" and "Hope & Faith."
