HOLLYWOOD -- It's not often sitcoms get a film-style preem, but the Peacock gave the full red-carpet treatment at MyHouse to "Parks and Recreation" when the Amy Poehler vehicle launched Thursday.

A key reason for the extra special care, producer Michael Schur said, is that "Thursday night at NBC has meant great comedy for a long time, and we don't want to screw that up."

Most of the focus was on Poehler; the launch has ratcheted up her status in the television caste system.

"This makes her a TV star," said NBC prexy Angela Bromstad. "She has an optimism and brightness that makes her irresistible."

As for Poehler, she seemed unfazed by the pressure for success. "I have unusually broad shoulders for a small girl," she said.
