Warner Bros.' "Observe and Report" premiere at the Chinese Theater on April 6 felt a little surreal at times for director-writer
Jody Hill.
"Having a premiere at the Chinese has been a lifelong obsession for me, but I didn't expect it this quickly," an amazed Hill noted at the jammed after-party, held at Falcon. "My mom had tears in her eyes when we walked in."
Producer
Donald De Line admitted that "Observe and Report," with its blend of offbeat comedy and tragedy, is far darker than any of his previous films.
"I think everyone feels it's very much a film of this time, and once I saw 'The Foot Fist Way,' I knew Jody (who wrote and directed 'Foot') had the vision to make this film very relatable."
