Hare sets monologue double-bill

'Berlin/Wall' runs at the Public May 14-17

David Hare will perform a double-bill of his Stephen Daldry-helmed monologues, "Berlin/Wall," at Off Broadway's Public Theater in May.

Hare, the scribe ("Stuff Happens") who performed his solo show "Via Dolorosa" on Broadway in 1999, preemed "Berlin," a meditation on the titular German city, at London's National Theater in February. "Wall," about the growing security fence between Israeli and Palestinian territories, bowed at the Royal Court in March.

Daldry ("Billy Elliot") directs the two new works after helming "Via Dolorosa," also about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"Berlin/Wall" runs at the Public May 14-17.
