The veteran indie film and TV stars, who have known each other for 20 years, have sealed a first-look TV deal with Lionsgate for their new shingle, Olive Prods.
Under the pact, Olive -- which they run alongside fellow producer Wren Arthur -- will develop and produce scripted fare for both broadcast and cable nets.
Lionsgate TV programming/production topper Kevin Beggs cited the Olive trio for their "daring, innovative aesthetic" and said he expected to forge a "long and productive collaboration" with them.
"Steve and Stanley are brilliant actors and, along with Wren Arthur, talented filmmakers whose careers reflect the same creative sensibility that defines and drives Lionsgate TV," Beggs said.
Buscemi is no stranger to Lionsgate, having just directed four out of the 12 episodes of the Edie Falco starrer "Nurse Jackie," which the studio is producing for Showtime.
Buscemi also has helmed episodes of "The Sopranos" (in which he starred, as well), "30 Rock," "Homicide" and "Oz." As an actor, he's set to star in Martin Scorsese's HBO drama pilot "Boardwalk Empire."
Tucci's TV credits include a starring role in the telepic "Winchell" and a guest actor gig on "Monk"; he won Emmys for both. He next stars in features "The Lovely Bones" and "Julie and Julia."
As for Arthur, the producer worked with Robert Altman for 11 years on films such as "Kansas City" and "Gosford Park." She also developed and produced "A Prairie Home Companion" and Sundance Channel's "Tanner on Tanner."
