Disney Theatrical Prods.' latest ticket discount, $15 for 15, seems to have successfully goosed sales, with the org announcing the initiative has prompted ticket sales totaling $1.4 million in two days.
Program, which began Sunday, offers a $15 companion seat for full-price tickets bought to about 125 performances of "The Lion King," "Mary Poppins" and "The Little Mermaid" between April 21 and May 31. Initiative echoes a similarly popular Disney program that ran earlier this year, Kids Go Free, which gave away a children's ticket for every adult ducat purchased.
The offer, timed to Disney Theatrical's 15th anniversary, aims in part to boost attendance at weekday perfs until the tourist-heavy summer vacation season begins.
