Jay Roach to produce Universal film

Comedy pitch comes from Cannistraci, Seton

Universal Pictures has acquired an untitled comedy pitch from Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton. Jay Roach will produce through his Everyman Pictures and is developing the project as a potential directing vehicle.

Studio is keeping logline under wraps.

Brian Sher will produce alongside Roach. Everyman's Jennifer Perini will serve as exec producer.

Roach, whose producing credits include "Borat" and "Charlie Bartlett" is teaming with Neal Moritz and U on a narrative feature remake of documentary "The Complete History of My Sexual Failures."

Cannistraci and Seton also wrote Jim Carrey starrer "Pierre, Pierre," which Jason Reitman is attached to direct for Fox Searchlight. The pair are also penning "Mongoose" for Disney and Tapestry Films.
