
Exec producer Vince Gilligan also serves as a director on AMC’s acclaimed 'Breaking Bad.'

"Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan has extended his overall deal with Sony Pictures TV.
Under the arrangement, Gilligan will continue to exec produce the critically acclaimed AMC series and also create other projects.
Gilligan's pact with Sony comes as AMC just picked up "Breaking Bad" for a third season.
Gilligan also serves as a director on "Bad," which also just earned a Peabody Award this week. The series' second season has gotten off to a big start, earning critical raves and opening to a solid audience of 1.7 million viewers. Show was renewed for a third season on Wednesday.
Prior to "Bad," Gilligan exec produced "The X-Files" and spinoff "The Lone Gunmen." He also worked on series including "Robbery Homicide Division" and "Night Stalker."
In the feature world, his credits include the Sony-distribbed "Hancock" and "Home Fries."
Bryan Cranston scored an Emmy for "Bad," in which he stars as a terminally ill high school chemistry teacher determined to ensure the financial security of his family by manufacturing methamphetamine.
