Discovery renews five series

Network reups 'Loggers,' 'Stuff,' 'Time Warp'

HOLLYWOOD -- Discovery Channel announced second-season renewals for five series Monday, giving reups to "American Loggers," "Destroyed in Seconds," "How Stuff Works," "Time Warp" and "Treasure Quest."

Discovery credits the recently launched nonfiction skeins with helping it increase primetime performance in its target demo of men 25-54.

Discovery also just greenlit "On the Case With Paula Zahn" for Investigation Discovery, ordering 13 episodes of the investigative series featuring the former CNN anchor.

And separately, Discovery Communications-owned Science Channel has partnered with Popular Science magazine for a new series, "Popular Science: The Future of," which will bow this summer on Science.
