Blue unveils pieces of 'Home'

Ad agency shows documentary clip at Mip TV

CANNES -- Christophe Lambert, co-founder of Paris-based advertainment agency Blue with producer/director Luc Besson, showed a clip of its first branded documentary, "Home," at Mip TV on Tuesday.

Co-produced by Blue and Elzevir Films and directed by Gaul's Yann Arthus-Bertrand, the EUR 13 million ($17.2 million) doc is made up of aerial shots of 50 countries and aims to raise awareness of environmental issues.

PPR, a French conglom that owns luxury brands including the Gucci Group, kicked in $13.25 million towards the budget while EuropaCorp raised the balance.

"I've always been an Earth lover. I tried to reveal its most beautiful facets through my films 'The Big Blue,' 'Atlantis' and 'Arthur and the Invisibles,' "Besson said. "It was a natural step for me to team up with Yann to produce this magnificent project."

EuropaCorp plans a worldwide, theatrical, TV, web and DVD release on June 5, World Environmental Day.

In Gaul, the doc will air on primetime on pubcaster France 2.

Blue launched in October.
