The band's video for the single, "Know Your Own Enemy," will be exclusively aired across all of MTV's 66 TV channels and 200 websites in 162 countries on April 24.
The track will be the first video release from Green Day's new album, "21st Century Breakdown," which will be released in May.
The broadcaster hopes to leverage its international clout to lure other acts into signing similar pacts.
"The global breadth of MTV's network is unmatched and makes us uniquely positioned to bring our audiences exclusive access to some of their favorite artists," said Bruce Gillmer, senior VP of talent and music at MTVN Intl. "Green Day is by far one of the world's most famous bands, with hard core fans from Kiev to Kuala Lumpur, and only MTV can connect them on literally hundreds of platforms."
