Twentieth TV's syndie version of 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader' is cleared in 29 of the top 30 markets.
Twentieth Television has sold a syndie version of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" to stations covering 80% of the country for a fall launch.
The half-hour gameshow, which, like the network version, will be hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy, is now cleared in 29 of the top 30 TV markets.
Twentieth's firstrun rollout of "5th Grader" takes last year's cue from NBC Universal, which launched a syndie rendition of its primetime gamer "Deal or No Deal."
Stations purchasing "5th Grader" include Fox, Tribune and Sinclair outlets, including Tribune's WPIX New York and Fox's KTTV Los Angeles. To date, the show has been cleared in 95 markets.
Airing on Fox since 2007, "5th Grader" is produced by Mark Burnett Prods. in association with Zoo Prods. Burnett, Barry Poznick and John Stevens serve as exec producers.
