The independent arbitration hearing in the labor dispute arising from Jeremy Piven's departure from the Broadway revival of "Speed-the-Plow" has been set for June 8 and 9.
Case will be heard in Gotham by arbitrator George Nicolau, according to a statement from the office of Jeffrey Richards, one of the lead producers of "Speed."
Sked has the proceedings beginning the day after the Tony Awards, set this year for June 7.
The producers' camp added they have requested medical records from Piven along with logs of his activities both during and after his stint in "Speed."
Piven appeared in the well-reviewed fall revival of the David Mamet showbiz satire until he exited the production unexpectedly in December, blaming health concerns brought about by high levels of mercury in his body.
Following Actors' Equity guidelines, a grievance hearing was held concerning the matter in February. No verdict was reached by a committee made up of reps from both the producers' side and the thesps' union. The indecisive outcome signaled the move to arbitration.
